Those studying gamekeeping will be able to join the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) for just £20 a year from September 2009.
The new membership category is part of BASC’s long-term objective to support future generations of gamekeepers. BASC has thousands of gamekeeper members who already benefit from a reduced rate of membership.
BASC’s head of game and gamekeeping, Tom Blades, said: “This new membership category has been introduced because BASC recognises that those studying gamekeeping will play a key part in the future of the sport. It will ensure that those studying gamekeeping can access the full range of membership benefits provided by the UK’s largest shooting organisation.”
From September 2009, those studying gamekeeping will be able to join BASC for the new rate of £20 a year by logging on to the BASC website or by calling the Membership Hotline on 01244 573030. The new membership category is available to any student enrolled on a full or part time college course, the title of which must include gamekeeping, game or deer. Evidence from the college of attendance on a recognised course will be a condition of membership.
