Youngsters from the south of England have been helping BASC develop its Young Shots membership services this month.
BASC held its first Young Shots conference at Sparsholt College in Hampshire to gauge how young shots currently see BASC and their membership and to consider how it could be developed.
The young shots came up with new ideas on progression days as well as suggesting other BASC Young Shot events. They also considered the possibility of a young shots news letter and came up with some great ideas for the development of their Young Shots website.
Sparsholt College staff gave the young shots the opportunity to use their rifle range, a tour of the college facilities as well as informing them about the opportunities a land based qualification could offer them.
BASC also brought along the Marksman II System to the event which was a huge hit with the Young Shots who had a chance to try their skills at a number of simulated shooting styles. The young shots were treated to a lunch time taste of game in the form of venison and rabbit all sourced within Hampshire and Sussex by BASC members.
