Paul triumphs in BASC .410 World Championships.

Winners pic for webPaul Chaplow from North Yorkshire is this year’s BASC Wales .410 World Champion after competing against opponents from all over the world. Paul achieved a score of 45 out of a possible 50 points. Tim Smith came in second place with 44 points and Chris Moule came third with 43 points.

The event held at the Mid Wales Shooting Centre in Trefeglwys, Powys and organised by the UK’s largest shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), saw competitors shooting a variety of clay targets using the smallest calibre shotgun in general use. This year’s competition saw a record 115 entries.

As the overall high gun Paul Chaplow was presented with his winning trophy as well as a Yildiz over-and-under .410 shotgun donated by Entwistle Guns of Preston.

Jess Allan from Oxfordshire achieved first place in the ladies’ class for the second year running with a score of 26 and Conor Gorsuch came top in the junior class with a score of 38. They were both presented with a trophy and 500 .410 Eley Hawk cartridges.
