Official figures show that almost one in four visitors to The Game Fair this year were BASC members or their guests.
BASC chairman Eoghan Cameron said: “More than 114,000 people interested in the conservation of the British countryside and associated shooting sports attended The Game Fair at Hatfield House. Almost a quarter of which – over 26,500 – were BASC members, their families and friends.”
James Gower, managing director of The Game Fair, said: “Visitor numbers continue to grow, highlighting the importance and value of the countryside.
“The community which supports The Game Fair is second to none. Our alliances with membership organisations like BASC add to our scientific and educational value in support of the countryside.”
“Our partnership is set to continue and develop when we return to Ragley Hall for The Game Fair 2020.”
One in five visitors to the event were BASC members. Some members also took advantage of an offer to purchase discounted BASC-guest tickets and VIP enclosure packages – which raised the overall BASC-related presence to one in four.
