A leading wildfowling club in Northern Ireland is donating money to support the work of BASC NI in politics and with young people in the province.
The Lough Foyle Wildfowlers’ Association presented a cheque for £200 to BASC Chairman Martyn Howat, providing part of an overall contribution of £1000 which the Club will make to BASC NI over the next five years.
The donation has been given in recognition of the achievements made by BASC NI, including formation of the new All Party Group on Country Sports in the NI Assembly.
Tommy Mayne, BASC Northern Ireland Director said: “I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the club for this very generous donation which will help fund the BASC NI Young Shots programme and our work with the newly formed All Party Group on Country Sports.”
“The club is the largest of BASC NI’s affiliated wildfowling clubs and this donation highlights their commitment not only to shooting and conservation but also to the NI Young Shots programme. BASC is the only organisation in NI that is actively promoting shooting and conservation to our young people at an early age and the BASC NI team is delighted to have our hard work recognised in such a way.”
