BASC has introduced 4,000 youngsters to sporting shooting at NORJAM 2018 – a week-long jamboree which brings together scouts and guides from around the world.
Twenty BASC-accredited coaches travelled to Norfolk for the event and gave clay shooting lessons to the youngsters over the course of the seven days.
Speaking from the event which brought together youngsters from more than 70 countries, BASC’s head of training and education Peter Marshall said:
“We’ve had a great week. I’m so proud of the coaches who have made this possible. It has taken a huge amount of hard work and effort from everyone involved.
“But all that effort is worthwhile if it opens up shooting to a youngster who may not have even thought it possible before this week.
“Our presence here would not have been possible without the backing of our sponsors Eley, Browning and Promatic. We are extremely grateful for their continued support.”
BASC chairman Peter Glenser QC said: “BASC is focused on opening up pathways to shooting, for example though our Young Shots programme.
“It would be fantastic if some of the youngsters who have tried shooting at NORJAM can progress so that they one day become the future of shooting.”
