The winner of BASC Ladies Shooting’s first ever Star of Shooting award was presented with her prize at BASC HQ.
Lydia Abdelaoui, co-founder of Femmes Fatales, was nominated for the voluntary work she does to support ladies in shooting.
BASC Ladies Shooting co-ordinator Kathleen O’Connor said: “Femmes Fatales have built up a nationwide network of ladies’ shooting events that are open to ladies of all levels of ability. Lydia offers support to all the regional co-ordinators which she manages to fit in with her already busy working-mum lifestyle.
“It was an absolute pleasure to present Lydia with the award for all her efforts and for the countless women she has introduced to shooting. We had such a high calibre of nominees that the decision was difficult but we will be carrying on the award each year.”
Lydia said: “Without our team of volunteers and members, Femmes Fatales simply would not be the success it has become – so I’d like to dedicate this award to everyone who has supported us and to all the awesome women who’ve shot with us.”
Lydia received a commemorative crystal award as well as prizes from BASC trade members and BASC Ladies Shooting supporters Sporting Hares and Hi Ho Silver.
