BASC North fundraising auction for young people and conservation

Young people and conservation projects will benefit from a fundraising auction and celebration dinner being hosted by BASC North.

The event at Gosforth Park Marriot Hotel in Newcastle on 13th April will raise money for BASC Young Shots, conservation projects in the north of England and the North East Youth charity.

Auction lots on offer include deer stalking, wildfowling, fishing and game and clay shooting experiences, as well as art, clothing and equipment.

BASC’s state-of-the-art shooting simulator will be at the event, featuring a simulated grouse challenge sponsored by Longthorne Guns.

The Northern Shooting Show is also supporting the evening and their special achievement award will be presented on the evening to an individual who has contributed above and beyond to the shooting community.
A game starter will arrive with a cooking demonstration by local food pioneer Silver Sheldon, who is dedicated to making game accessible to all.

BASC North officer Gareth Dockerty said: “We are working in partnership with NE Youth, a leading youth charity which helps engage young people and gives them opportunities to get involved with community projects.

“The night will feature some incredible auction lots of experiences that are totally unique. The evening will have something for everybody, from deer stalking in Northumberland to fly fishing and game shooting in North Yorkshire.

“Plus a variety of raffle prizes and a silent auction on the night. We want to celebrate the shooting community with a fun, sociable evening.

“All funds raised on the night will go towards the North East Youth charity, BASC Young Shots and conservation projects, so all attending will be investing in future generations in the region.

“These events mean we can support new projects in the North from the Let’s Learn Moor education project and Young Shots events to conservation projects at Lindisfarne – the funds raised at these events mean we can invest and support the shooting community further.”

Tickets are £40 per person for the evening (£400 for a table of 10).
