Membership of the British Association for Shooting and Conservation has hit a record 150,000 – meaning the voice of shooting is louder and clearer than ever before.
BASC is the UK’s largest shooting organisation supporting all shooting interests and disciplines as well as highlighting the important role that the sport plays in enhancing conservation and biodiversity.
Peter Glenser, BASC chairman, said: “We are absolutely delighted that the BASC family continues to grow. Reaching 150,000 memberships is a significant milestone for BASC. Greater numbers means a bigger voice for promoting high standards in the field and for the protection and promotion of shooting where it counts.
“Shooting has never been so popular. However, there are bigger issues ahead and every new member who joins adds strength to our voice.”
Christopher Graffius, BASC’s acting chief executive, said: “Our record membership means we are in the strongest position yet to protect and promote shooting sports. BASC is an association which holds the values of sporting shooting close to its heart and the best interests of our members at its very core.
“Bringing so many people together for shooting means that we have the strength in numbers to do the job, whether with government, the media or when working with the many interests involved in shooting. We will continue to build on this success for the good of all our members.”
BASC membership starts from just £26 per year, and includes member benefits such as:
- £10 million third party liability cover
