Competitiors are invited to attend this year’s BASC .410 World Championships; a clay-shooting competition using the smallest-calibre shotgun in general use.
The event is organised by BASC and sponsored by Gamebore.
The 50 target sporting layout competition will be held on Saturday 23rd September at the Mid Wales Shooting Centre near Caersws, Powys.
Competitors can enter the open, ladies, junior (under 18 on the day) and BASC members’ classes plus a pool shoot.
The winners of each class will receive a trophy they can keep for a year, a salver to keep and a quantity of .410 Gamebore cartridges. People who take second and third place in each class will receive Gamebore cartridges. The overall high gun will be presented with the .410 World Championship Challenge Cup.
Meurig Rees of BASC Wales said: “This event really tests the ability of the competitors. I look forward to welcoming this year’s competitors on the day.”
David Scott from Gamebore said: “Mid Wales lay on great shoots whatever the discipline and this event gets more popular every year. We are delighted to sponsor the event. Great targets and a great atmosphere are always on offer at Mid Wales and we look forward to another great event.”
The competition will start at 10am with last entries at 2pm. No pre-booking is required.
Entry fees are Juniors £10 and £20 for all others. Anyone who wants to shoot in the BASC class must produce their membership card when entering otherwise they will be placed in the next suitable class.
The .410 is the smallest of the popular shotgun gauges, firing a light charge of pellets, and would normally be used as an entry-level gun for young people and for close-quarter pest control.
