People are being urged to sign up for this year’s Countryside Clay Shoot which will be held at the prestigious Six Mile Bottom shooting estate in Cambridgeshire on Saturday 13th May.
The annual charity shoot will raise money for the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust (GWT) and the CLA Charitable Trust and is being organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and the CLA.
Organisations, businesses and individuals are being encouraged to enter teams. Teams of four will compete across six stands with a mix of simulated game targets. Entry costs £600 per team which is £150 per person and includes hospitality.
The winning team will be presented with the Hugh van Cutsem Challenge Cup, dedicated to the memory of the keen shot and countryman.
Steve Bloomfield, BASC’s director of operations, said: “The Gamekeepers Welfare Trust and the CLA Charitable Trust are two very worthy rural charities that deserve our support. Entering a team will not only be a wonderful experience shooting at the famous Six Mile Bottom estate, which is probably one of the best simulated layouts in the country but will also help support ‘keepers and other rural workers in times of hardship.”
CLA Director General Helen Woolley said: “The CLA is thrilled to partner with BASC to deliver this prestigious event once again. The competition is a fun and fitting way of bringing shooters together in honour of Hugh Van Cutsem and to raise funds for two worthy countryside charities. I urge all keen shots to take part.”
The CLA will be providing hospitality throughout the shoot.
