THERE is still time to enter this year’s Countryside Clay Shoot – an event which promises to be a highlight of the spring.
The charity simulated game shoot will be held at the prestigious Six Mile Bottom shooting estate in Cambridgeshire on Saturday (14th May).
It will raise money for the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust (GWT) and the CLA Charitable Trust and is being organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and the CLA.
Organisations, businesses and individuals are being encouraged to enter teams of four, which will compete across six stands with a mix of simulated game targets. Entry costs £600 per team which is £150 per person and includes hospitality. Individuals can also enter, but will need to contact the BASC Central office as soon as possible so they can be put into teams.
The winning team will receive the Hugh van Cutsem Challenge Cup, dedicated to the memory of the keen shot and countryman.
People taking part in this year’s event will have the chance to shoot some of the finest shotguns in the world for charity, courtesy of globally renowned gun maker James Purdey & Sons, for a £20 donation on the day.
Steve Bloomfield, BASC England director, said: “The Countryside Clay Shoot is a way for everyone who shoots to raise funds for two very important charitable causes. There is still time for people to book to take part. Previous events have been big successes and we want to build on that this year and raise crucial funds for the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust and the CLA Charitable Trust.”
