BASC, the largest shooting association in Scotland, has launched a unique campaigning website for the Scottish parliamentary elections to be held on Thursday 5th May this year. The website equips all those with an interest in shooting to identify their candidates and email them seeking their views on shooting and conservation. The position of candidates can be recorded on the site so that voters know where their candidates stand.
The website can be accessed here.
Colin Shedden, Director BASC Scotland, said: “Shooting makes a major contribution of £200 million to the Scottish economy each year and to the management of rural land in Scotland. Many Scots enjoy shooting sports and people come from all over the world to shoot in Scotland.
“BASC wants to inform and educate candidates who may not know much about shooting and we also want to work with all members of Scottish Parliament (MSPs). BASC is an all-party organisation but that doesn’t mean we’re not interested in politics . We want everyone who cares about shooting and conservation to use this site to find out what candidates think about shooting and if they’re prepared to take an interest if they are elected.”
