Students from Sussex have been trying different countryside activities this week including air rifle shooting and clay pigeon shooting.
Almost 40 youngsters from local schools were able to learn more about gundog training, ferreting and long netting, falconry and fly fishing as well as trying their hand at shooting.
The event, which was organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and held at Lancing College, was designed to give the students a taster of countryside activities.
Jenni Thompson from BASC said: “The enthusiasm and attentiveness youngsters have for rural pursuits never fails to amaze me; come rain or shine they go home having learnt a lot and with great, happy and fun memories. These days are an excellent opportunity to help educate the young about the countryside and I would encourage more schools and people to get involved by hosting or attending similar events”.
