Shooters in the South West of England will have a chance to learn about different disciplines at sessions run by The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC). BASC’s South West team will host ‘How To’ days covering pigeon shooting and wildfowling.
They are designed as introductions to the disciplines to ensure people are acting safely and within the law and to increase people’s enjoyment and abilities. The first of the ‘How To’ days will focus on pigeon shooting and will be held at Somerton, Somerset, on 3rd June.
The day will cover pigeon shooting and the law; gun safety; wood pigeon shooting including decoying, flighting and roost shooting; dangers in the field; guns and cartridges; pattern testing and range judging; decoy patterns and carcass preparation. There will be theory and practical sessions so people will need to bring indoor and outdoor clothing. The event will run from 9.30am until 4.30pm and lunch will be supplied. Tickets cost £65.
