New Pigeon Courses in the Midlands

The one day course is aimed at increasing participants’ skills and enjoyment and helping people to stay safe and within the law.

The course will cover;

  • Pigeon shooting and the law
  • Gun safety
  • Woodpigeon shooting (decoying, flighting and roost shooting)
  • Dangers in the field
  • Guns and cartridges
  • Pattern testing and range judging
  • Decoying patterns
  • Carcass preparation

The first course will be held at Doveridge Clay Sports Club, Derbyshire DE6 5LN 24 November 2012.

Places cost £45 for BASC members and £65 for non-members

Woodpigeon are the UK’s number one agricultural pest. This course is designed to improve crop protection. More and more people are finding pigeon shooting is a cheap and rewarding form of shooting and a fabulous source of food. This course caters for a range of abilities. It is designed for anyone from the novice taking up pigeon shooting to the more experienced shot.
