New opportunity for Anglesey women to try clay shooting

Women on Anglesey will get the chance to try clay shooting and other country sports at a special event near Holyhead on Saturday 17 May.

The ladies’ country sports experience day, which has been organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), will include instruction in clay target shooting, falconry and archery as well as a demonstration of gundog training and handling. The event will take place at Anglesey Shooting School, Presaddfed Hall at Bodedern.

BASC’s director for Wales, Glynn Cook, said: ”These events offer women the opportunity to make contacts and practise their skills in a friendly environment and these days are increasingly popular as more women are becoming interested in country sports.”

Participants are not required to hold a shotgun certificate and all the equipment, shotguns and cartridges will be provided. Coffee and biscuits on arrival, lunch and afternoon tea are all included in the cost of £30 per person.
