Major gundog competition to be held in Northern Ireland

Gundog owners in Northern Ireland will be joining forces to compete in BASC’s Inter-Club Gundog Day which is being held at the Larchfield Estate in Lisburn on Saturday 29 March.

Teams and individual entrants will take part in several intermediate level tests with the winning team taking home £150. The top individual will receive £75 and the prize for top dog is £100.

Individuals can enter on the day but teams need to enter in advance by calling 028 9260 5050 or e-mailing nire@0ld.basc.org.uk for an application form. The application form can also be downloaded from the Northern Ireland page of the BASC website – www.0ld.basc.org.uk. Entries cost £24 per team and £8 for an individual entry. If you enter as part of a team you cannot enter the individual unless with a different dog. Teams must consist of three dogs and three handlers.

Amanda McCallion from BASC Northern Ireland said: “Our gundog day is always well supported and a very enjoyable event. Spectators are also very welcome and we look forward to seeing lots of people there.”
