Introduction to Game Shooting at Kingsclere and Wolverton park estates

Sixteen lucky BASC members were chosen to attend the first Introduction to Game Shooting event on 23rd and 24th January at the Kingsclere and Wolverton Park estates in Hampshire.  The aim of the event was to provide 16 guns with their first experience of driven game shooting in a supportive environment and under the expert tuition of BASC coaches.  The two day event began on the Kingsclere Estate with a classroom session to learn about gun safety and shooting etiquette, followed by a simulated shoot.  The following day everyone participated in a live game shoot at Wolverton Park, where all the guns were successful and shot their first driven bird and despite the awful weather, had a really enjoyable day.  By the end of the day the bag amounted to some 69 birds with a mixture of goose, duck, partridge and pheasant.

The South East Team would particularly like to say thank to both the Kingsclere Estate and to Guy Pike at Wolverton Park, his family  and all those who turned up on the day to help with beating and picking up.  Both estates have been incredibly generous in offering their facilities and time in order to make this a very special occasion for the participants involved.
