The UK’s largest shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), will host a course to introduce people to deer stalking.
The course will be held on 23rd October 2010 at the Forestry Commission Centre at Grizedale, Cumbria.
The course will include presentations on deer behaviour, ecology and biology along with deer law, firearms law and safety, gralloching and lardering skills, stalking equipment and techniques.
The course involves indoor and outdoor practical sessions.
Steve Woodhall, BASC’s Northern regional officer, said: “This is an ideal opportunity to gain an insight into deer management with the help and support of professional deer managers.”
The cost of the day is £60 for adults and £40 for BASC Young Shot members who accompany an adult. The cost includes a course pack, light lunch and refreshments.
