Hundreds enjoy a ?taste of game? in Devon

More than 700 people got to taste some of the best food on offer in the south west during a special event in Exeter on 18 November to mark National Taste of Game Week.

The ‘Game and Gamekeeping’ event, which was organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and hosted by The Sportsman’s Centre, saw guests enjoy dishes such as pheasant and Armagnac, rabbit and pheasant curry and venison casserole all washed down with a selection of Gaymers cider.

Guests were also able to peruse the gun centre and speak to representatives from the major gun manufacturers, optics, clothing and automotive sectors. Some lucky individuals were treated a free engraving from one of FABARMS master engravers. BASC were also joined by David Bright Seed Specialists, Marsden Game Feed, Chudleys, Musto, Steyr, Beretta and Browning.

South West Olympic shots and 2012 hopefuls, Rory Warlow and Peter Wilson, entertained the crowds by shooting against local game shots on the Marksman shooting simulator on a sporting clay layout and on the virtual grouse moors of Yorkshire.

The whole event was filmed by Fieldsports Channel TV and can be viewed on www.fieldsportschannel.tv
